Reco Pak Shareholding Company with licence № ООп-06-00/17.01.2005 is established in November 2004 to meet the requirements of the ecological legislation, resulting from the Waste management Act (WMA) published in the State Bulletin (SB vol. 86/2003).

Through its activity the shareholding company aims to cooperate with the import and producing companies,  owing product fees and launching packaged goods on Bulgarian market, as well as with Bulgarian municipalities and the Ministry of Environment and Water (MEW) according the attuning of environmental politics with European legislation and the imminent entering the EU.  

The producers and importers of packaged goods are responsible according & 9 of Transitional and final provisions of WMA for separate collection, recycling and recovery of packaging wastes, generated in result of the usage of these goods.

The producers and importers can fulfill their obligations: 

• Individually – establishing their own program for managing the packaging wastes, ensuring achieving the targets of recycling and recovery, according the requirements of section 2, art.15, 16 и 17 of the Ordinance on packages and packaging wastes adopted by decree of the Council of Ministers № 41 and published in the State Bulletin No.19/2004);

• By taking part in collective system, presented by a recovery organization; (Par. 3, art.18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the Order for packages and packaging wastes).  

The main objectives of Reco Pak Shareholding Company are to do with outlining directions for creating and implementing an effective and stable system for separate collection in the Republic of Bulgaria, keeping the current legislation and achieving the targets for recovery and recycling of packaging wastes, заложени в WMA. The objectives of Reco Pak Shareholding Company, laid in its program, are:

• To establish Reco Pak Shareholding Company  as a national wide recovery  organization for packaging waste;

• Joined responsibility of industry and municipalities in establishing and organizing the differentiated collecting of packaging wastes;

• To release the companies participating in the collective system organized by Reco Pak Shareholding Company from the obligation to pay the product fees for their packaging on the market, forming mass released waste;

• Reco Pak Shareholding Company provides its clients with a cost effective and long-term solution for achieving of packaging waste recovery and recycling targets, set by Bulgarian legislation;

• The activity of Reco Pak Shareholding Company is part of the progress of the country towards European Union. And finally, the company will ensure high level of environmental protection for benefits of the citizens of Bulgaria.
